Almost every town and village would have a nice beach - perfect place to cool down during the Summer heat waves and to breath fresh sea air the rest of the year.

Here is the list of the most beautiful and the best Sea beaches of the country:

• The most popular beaches of the Netherlands - Zadnvoort beach, Bloemendaal aan Zee & Parnassia aan Zee. They all are connected to each other into one long beautiful, clean and vibrant beach line. It's full of beach clubs and beach fun activities. It hosts some of the biggest beach parties. Trully place to enjoy beach life. One drawback - it's so popular, that in the peak days there is no place at all and they even close the roads to come there by car. So, come by train to Zandvoort or come to Haarlem and then cycle to the beach:)

• Dutch Riviera - Scheveningen beach in The Hague. It's an elegant urban beach. You come here for a beatiful eating out with a view, cheerful walks, for fun & cultural events, like Sand sculpture competition, and for a romantic sunsets, especially during the International Fireworks festival in August. Beware - nearby street parking is limited to 30 minutes. Come by public transport.

• Relax and get close to the nature at beaches of Kijkduin, Noordwijk aan Zee, Katwijk aan Zee - small resort towns near Hague. They are lively and vibrant as per summer holidays spirit, yet elegant, chill and relax as per respectable spa towns.

• High and meander shaped dunes give a very unique look to a tropical beach at Schoorl, making it to look cosmic, out-of-Earth. Come to this beach for views and landscapes.

• Enjoy family time at beaches in Bergen aan Zee, Egmond aan Zee, Castricum aan Zee. These are small towns with many cute beach cafes, dunes& nature and interesting activities for kids, like Sea aquarium in Bergen aan Zee, old fishers' village at Egmond aan Zee and kites at Castricum aan Zee.

• Probably the sweetest and most child-friendly beach of the country - in Wassenaar. Dunes and the shape of the coast give a natural protection from wind and from cold water. It has low depth for quite some distance from shore, so the water is warmer than at the other beaches. It also has many playgrounds and family cafes. Additionally, Wassenaar is a town of Dutch millionaires - quite some entertainment to observe fancy villas on the way to the beach:)

• The corner of the Netherlands - Hoek van Holland, near Rotterdam. This is a windy heaven for surfers. Plenty of surf clubs and party beach clubs. Another reason why beach cafes & clubs are open all year round - Ferries from England come here.

  • the most Southern sea resort of the Netherlands - Catzand. Paradise for sea food lovers. 11 kilometers of beautiful beach ending on the border with Belgium. Walk along the beach at the low tide and you'll reach Belgian riviera - the luxurious resort town of Knokke. Or come to neighboring nature resort - Zwin.

  • the broadest beach of the Zealand - Vrouwenpolder, which adjoins the Oranjezon nature park, the Veerse Meer lake and Breezand. This beach gives you everything - peace at one corner, kites & surfers at another end

  • Berkenbos, Oostkapelle - (Walcheren) - most dog friendly beach. They even sell dog beer here!

  • Zwartepolder - completely secluded beach with a small wooden trail that you can take if you want to skip making your feet wet.

  • The Hoge Hilt at Zoutelande - being well sheltered from wind, it is a mecca for water sport lovers. and for sun bathing fans:)

• In the North of the Netherlands - Beaches of Wadden sea and Wadden islands:

  • Stunning beaches of Texel island - they run parallel to the dunes of Texel national park. Take aerial view over these gorgeous beaches during the skydiving from Texel airport.

  • Vlieiand island has huge, priscine clean and calm beaches. There is just one cafe - so get your food with you:) Kids can be entertained by Vliehors Express - drive along the beach, watch sea lions and visit seaguards house.

  • The 2nd biggest West Frisian island - the Terschelling island offers you 30 kilometers of wide, up to 1 km width, beaches. Wherever you are on the island you are always near a beach. It's the place for long nature walks & rides, for enjoying calm beaches and beautiful sea views. This beach also holds an annual Oreol theater festival.

  • Ameland - endless empty beaches. These 27 kilometers of beach line and dunes is the destination to escape crowds and hussle of the city life.

• Watersports lovers should come to the beach at Makkum village in Friesland. Sailing, surfing and waterskiing facilities - all waiting for you.

• Pieterburen village beach in Groningen is more than a beach. It's a lovely village with gothic brick houses, windmills and the Seal Rehabilitation & Research center. So, if you want to meet some Seals - here you go. This beach gives you also an unique opportunity to exercise a very special (and dangerous!) Dutch "water" sports - Mudflat hiking (wadlopen) : Cross the Wadden sea by foot. Of course, you do it during the extreme low tides, yet navigating the sandbanks of the sea requires an experienced guide.
